PREMIERE: Coach N' Commando, FBP!K!K! (King Pizza Records)

In their latest release on Brooklyn tape micro-label King Pizza Records, Coach N' Commando kicks up a satisfying tornado of Americana dust and Lower East Side punk with the aptly named FBP!K!K! (Faster, Baby Punks! Kill! Kill!). The album will see its official cassette release on Thursday, June 23 at The Acheron as part of King Pizza's annual PizzaFest.

With their allusions to backwater locales and classic B-movie material ("Crystal Lake still makes a good spot in the summer," vocalist/guitarist Matt Witte snarls on the appropriately titled "Kids'll Lose Their Head Sometimes"), Coach N' Commando is deadly accurate in the tone they create: it's summer, it's too damn hot, you're starting to lose it, and there's no telling what you're going to do. It's outlaw punk. Witte's gravelly vocals set the scene. Spotless, lightning-fast runs of bluegrass finger-picking accelerate the madness. Faster, it says. And it definitely kills.

Sounds like: Murder City Devils live at Folsom Prison; a rusted resonator (on a car or Dobro, doesn't matter); spontaneous arson.
